so in the last 11 months...

well. guess I'm just not as good as blogging as I thought. at least I admit it. anyway- since my last update a lot has happened (shocker). my beautiful niece was born on July 5th and she is such a sweet little angel. Emily Caroline smiles and laughs and already loves life, and Harlan and Max adore her, as do I of course.
We sold my townhouse in southside in April and 2 days later closed on our first new home as a family. it's fabulous. not long after, I realized that I was in fact living the dream. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1 level in Alabaster and it truly is home. We've put our own special touches on every room in the house and it feels great to go home each day.
- taking a pause here to see if I have any pictures to post of it -
oh good, I do. will post at the end...
anyway, Harlan has been enrolled in 3K at Westwood this year, going Mon, Wed & Fridays and she loves it. She has her best friend Catherine and we've been told on several occasions that they are completely inseparable. they are. we saw this first hand at Harlans 4th birthday party. She's also still taking gymnastics on Monday, Awana group on Wednesday, and dancing on Thursday - oh and recently (as of last week) started soccer practice at school. she's definitely a busy girl, but she LOVES her activities and is turning out to be quite the social butterfly. that's my girl.
Max started walking at 9 months and has been full force ever since. he's 14.5 months old now and is apparently going to be all boy. he's strong and solid and I believe could actually kick my butt should I ever decide to let him. I'll put it this way- I get some kind of slight injury from him every day, from head buts to kicks in the stomach- all of them out of love though I am certain. he's my sweet boy, my sweet aggressive boy. maybe he'll be taking some of it out on the football field someday. hopefully professionally so he can take care of ole' mom.

So at the start of this new year, I will close with this... I'm thankful for my job that I love, my healthy happy family and our new humble little abode. Life is good, even if I have to dust off the view every now and then, I am truly a blessed girl.

pardon the pics, they were taken from my phone so not the greatest of quality...
